The first restaurant at 104 Luckie Street in downtown Atlanta, Georgia wasn't fancy, but it was clean, served good home-style food, and was a success from the first day it opened.
Our customers were the working people of Atlanta. To keep them happy, we knew we had to give them good value for their money. In those days, 15 cents would buy you two eggs, hot cakes, or a waffle. For 35 cents you could get the works, eggs, grits, ham, hot biscuits, jelly, jam and coffee.
From that small beginning, Davis Brothers grew to be a leader in the hospitality industry, operating specialty restaurants, steak houses, and cafeterias throughout the Southeastern United States.
