Adaptations from Roahl Dahl include THE BFG, THE WITCHES, FANTASTIC MR FOX; THE TWITS, and JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH. Other adaptations, BABE, THE SHEEP-PIG (Dick King-Smith), SPOT'S BIRTHDAY PARTY (Eric Hill), TOM’S MIDNIGHT GARDEN (Phillippa Pearce). Many of his plays were toured by WHIRLIGIG THEATRE. He also writes pantomimes, including MOTHER GOOSE'S GOLDEN CHRISTMAS, BABES IN THE MAGIC WOOD, JACK AND THE GIANT, CINDERELLA, ALADDIN ETC. His book THEATRE FOR CHILDREN is published by Faber (UK) and Ivan Dee (US) and discusses writing, adapting, acting and directing theatre for children, including his motto “Lots of suddenlies”.
