- That’s the only possible way to interpret my finish at this year’s Turkey Trot in Dallas. I did run the whole 8 miles, so there’s at least a little something to be proud of, and I didn’t finish in dead last, so there’s that. But I did finish 253rd in my age group with a final time of 1:22:14, and that’s not exactly setting a course or a personal record. Still, I had a good time and I’ll be back next year, because nothing justifies a full day of eating and drinking to excess while watching football like starting that day with a good 8-mile run.
