- The Daily Message Devotional was started as a prompting by the Holy Spirit in the heart of founder and co-author, Darin Smith in 1999. After attending a very intensive summer camp where he received his call to ministry, Darin began writing devotions everyday to his friends from camp. By the grace of God, the devotion spread from that small group of 20 people to nearly 4,000 people on various listservs all around the world. Now on every continent except Antartica (we are holding out hope for the scientists and the penguins...), the devotion is featured on several sites, including Teens4Jesus (http://www.teens4jesus.org) and Secretmotive (http://www.secretmotive.com), to name a few. The staff has been able to use the written material of the devotions to supply various ministries offline for a variety of purposes.
