- Leslie is a self-taught bookbinder. In 1991, Leslie began searching for a blank leather book to use as a journal/sketchbook. Unable to find anything remotely resembling a fine leather bound blank book she decided to bind her own. Her journey began at the Denver Public Library. She borrowed and studied every book on the topic of bookbinding, all types and styles. Several months later, with a clear vision of what her special blank book was to look like she started bookbinding. Bookbinding soon became a passion. Along the way she began selling her creations at Renaissance Festivals and went online in 1998. Her blank leather books can be seen at http://www.dvynewrytes.com.
