Curtis, a Los Angeles native, discovered his talent in art when he began sketching wildlife pictures from his parent's library in Los Angeles at the age of four. By the age of fifteen, this L.A. native took an interest in airbrushing. With no formal training, he was able to use his natural talent and imagination to begin a hobby that has since turned into an overnight success.
While still in high school, Curtis began his business, Curtis Stokes Custom Airbrush (CSCA), by airbrushing custom orders for his friends. That was just the beginning. While being an air brusher at Hollywood's Universal Studios, he was also creating customized T-shirts and other apparels at parties and social gatherings. He brought a new form of entertainment to Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, anniversaries, fund-raisers, birthday parties, and celebrity events. Over the years, Curtis has incorporated a celebrity clientele to include Sally Struthers, Henry Winkler, WWF's Macho Man Randy Savage, and Olympic Gold Medallist, Mark Spitz. Entertaining at parties is not Curtis' only source for exercising his craft. He also designs and builds set props, centerpieces, backdrops, and a wide array of event decorations.
After eight years of successfully operating CSCA, Curtis has extended his talents into murals and black light art -- artwork that gives dual illusions by day and night. Unlike other artists, he has introduced a form of black light art into the conservative world of home decoration, yet innovatively establishing himself as an individualist.
