Description

About the scouting organization:

At the top of the entire organization is the Boy Scouts of America. Cub Scouts is one of three membership divisions of the BSA. The purpose of the BSA is to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build desirable qualities of character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness. Personal fitness includes physical, mental, and emotional fitness. Check out Scouting Info for more information.

Local Organization

Each Cub Scout Pack is overseen by a Chartered Organization; Pack 230's Chartered Organization is The Tatnall School. The Chartered Organization "owns" the Pack. They're the originators of the Pack, and provide guidance throughout the year. Tatnall School is also the location of Pack 230's monthly Pack Meetings, the Pinewood Derby, the Blue and Gold Banquet, and other Pack and Den events.

In between the Chartered Organization and the Pack is the Pack Committee. The Pack Committee is made up of representatives of both the Charterer Organization and the Pack, and is responsible for making overall plans for the Pack and taking care of the "business" items that are necessary for the Pack to operate smoothly.
