- Children's Services Council is a special district of local government with taxing authority. Property tax funds are invested in high quality programs and services aimed at seeing that more babies are born healthy, fewer children are abused and neglected, children enter school ready to learn and have access to quality afterschool programs.
In order to be successful, programs and services must be attuned to the community which they serve. In Palm Beach County, the majority of families are comprised of two working parents, a single parent or another relative raising children. Additionally, the majority of population growth for our county is through migration; thus many families with children do not have grandparents, aunts, uncles or long-terms friends to help them in raising their children. Consequently, we have an additional responsibility to support the families raising children.
