Description
Willemien Stevens was born in the Netherlands and has been an active textile artist for over 20 years. The technique she uses is applique, which is the bonding of scraps of material to a backgroud fabric and enhancing this work by machine and hand stitching.
Her work has been published in many quarters in books and magazines, as greetings cards, and limited and open edition prints.
She has also undertaken commissions for decoraltive murals on several cruise liners and her designs are in use by a major textiles manufacturer.
