Guitar Pickup Repair and Rewind

My name is James Wagner. I would just like to say first of all that WCR owes a great deal to Carol Hadden, shown with me in the picture above. She supported the dream which is now a reality.
I'm 50 years old, and have been into music and guitars since I was around 14. Ignorant of guitar pickup operations until 10-11 years ago, I found myself looking for that great sound created by Van Halen, Jimmy Hendrix, Stevie Ray, Duane Allman, Dickey Betts, Clapton, Page, etc.
I really loved that PAF sound. But after checking out PAFs, and the prices for them (as high as 1500 bucks at the time, up to $5,000.00 now), I decided to try to wind my own. I discovered that the old PAFs had been hand-wound. That clued me in. Some PAFs sound great, but most don't. This makes sense because most of those pickups are/were done by INEXPERIENCED winders.
