Title

Church of the Holy Trinity Charismatic Episcopal Church

Description

SACRAMENTAL comes from a Latin word which means mystery. Worship at Church of the Holy Trinity reflects our recognition that God is bigger than our understanding. We share weekly in the Lord's Supper according to a liturgy similar to the one attributed to Clement, a companion of the Apostle Paul. But its roots are even more ancient, going back to the Jewish Passover meal during which Jesus said,"This is my body, broken for you...This is my blood shed for you and for many..." We hold a high view of the sacraments of the Church believing that through them our Lord Jesus Christ, in a way we do not understand, ministers His real presence to His people and gives them grace for daily living. CHARISMATIC comes from the Greek word which means "gifts of grace." At Church of the Holy Trinity we anticipate Jesus to minister to His people through the gifts He has given to the Church. These include gifts of healing (prayers for the sick are offered in each service), prophecy (God speaking to His people for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort), and other gifts and ministries Jesus has given by His Holy Spirit as mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles, Romans 12, I Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4 and elsewhere in the Scripture. But most of all we desire to be "gifted" with a sincere love for one another which is the greatest gift of the Holy Spirit in our lives. REFORMED Church of the Holy Trinity adheres to what can be called a "reformed orthodoxy." We hold to the traditions of the Church as handed down by the apostles and prophets and practiced by the Church Fathers. We also recognize the great truths of Scripture available to the common man. We acknowledge the priesthood of all believers, the right of the clergy to marry, and the need for every individual to seek a personal relationship with God in Christ Jesus through prayer, the study of Scripture and participation in the sacraments of the Church EVANGELICAL comes from a Greek word meaning "he who brings good news." We at Church of the Holy Trinity are all commissioned by our Lord Jesus Christ to bring the good news of salvation to the world. Whether in the church, on the job, in the school, at home, in the streets of the inner city or on a remote mission station, the followers of Jesus are called to teach the words of Jesus and live the life of Jesus. This is our purpose and our calling for which the sacraments of the Church, the gifts of the Spirit and the doctrine of the Scriptures have been given to help us fulfill.
