Our Mission
Conservation Value (CV) is a new not-for-profit, non-partisan organization founded to increase public awareness of and access to practical environmental solutions. Our mission is to promote the benefits of sustainability by helping consumers, companies and government agencies find opportunities to simultaneously benefit the environment, save money and improve their health and quality of life. We aim to debunk the myth that protecting the environment is harmful to the economy and to foster its replacement by a positive vision of sustainability as the smart path to becoming wealthier, healthier and safer communities.
Targeting a Market With the Resources to Affect Change
Our main current market consists of traditional environmental ("green") consumer and business segments who are already interested in the benefits of sustainability (one segment being the rapidly growing Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability, or LOHAS Market). For these people, we aim to meet a critical need to make it easier to find and learn about (1) green products and services, (2) sustainable living, business and land management practices, and (3) incentive programs (such as tax breaks and rebates for energy and land conservation) that make sustainable purchases and practices not just affordable, but money-saving.
