Description

Excerpted from the website:

Although Connors Concrete Products, Inc. is a new venture in Winslow, its company CEO is no stranger to the precast industry. James M. Connors worked in nearly every capacity of a family-owned precast concrete business in Voorhees, New Jersey for his entire career. His grandfather of the same name started the company in 1921 making bricks for home construction with a hand operated machine. He soon added rock-face block. In the 1930’s, he expanded to making concrete flower pots which he continued to fabricate throughout the Great Depression. In 1944, the elder James M. Connors incorporated and named the company Victory Brick and Block to support the war effort. He kept the company going strong during World War II while his four sons were proudly serving in the armed forces. After the war, he expanded into ornamental concrete, building blocks, slabs, splash blocks and survey monuments. The elder James M. Connors died in 1960 at which time his son Philip Connors Sr. took over the business. Philip Sr. added air conditioning pads, bumper block, and additional types of ornamental concrete. Philip Sr. and his wife Gladys maintained the business until 2004 when they retired and sold the original property and parts of the business to various entities.
