About Louise and Woody, studio directors
Dancing is Louise's passion! This love affair began when her older brothers attended cotillion, and came home to teach her the polka. She would polka up and down the hall with her brother Tim to the tune of "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," and was hooked for life. Subsequent years led to extensive square dancing, a little disco, and finally West Coast Swing. While West Coast Swing is Louise's favorite, she has competed in Country Western competition with her husband Woody in two-step, cha-cha, and waltz.
Louise is an active competitor, known on the national scene. In recent years she has brought home awards in West Coast Swing from locations as far flung as Seattle, Chicago and Dallas. She coached a local team to a win at the UCWDC World Championships.
Although active competitors, Louise adn Woody are primarily social dancers, and bring this focus to their classes. Emphasis is on proper lead and follow technique which allows their students to dance successfully with a wide variety of partners.
