Now it's time to tell you a little about myself. When I gave birth to my daughter, Ella, in April of 2000, my life changed. Not only was I blessed with my beautiful little girl, I also discovered the beauty of pregnancy and childbirth. Since then I have been pursuing my dream of working with expectant families; educating them, so this time in their lives can be one they will remember forever.
I started my training to become a childbirth educator through the International Childbirth Education Association in 2000. I then started training through the University of San Diego Extentions program to become a Certified Lactation Educator. After receiving both of my certifications, I studied to became a Certified Postpartum Doula. I attended UCSD for Lactation Consultant training. I took my board exam in July 2005 and I am now an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
Think I'm finished yet? Not a chance! The wonderful thing about this field is there is so much information out there. I don't think I'll ever stop learning. So what do I do with all of these certifications?
