- I originally came from a town in Ireland called Carrickmacross. My first exposure to a PC was a Tandy TRS-80 back in the 80's. From that point on I was hooked. I studied Electronic Engineering in college in Ireland and worked for Zenith Data Systems (Ireland) after graduation. I came to the U.S. in 1989 and spent another 5 years in the electronics industry. In 1995 I moved to Chicago and entered the IT field at a major software company. I am currently employed as a Director of Information Security. My soft skills includes budget development, personnel management and team leadership, writing and implementing business plans, cost analysis, written and oral communications and a host of other skill sets.
