We Tweet a teaser and we upload a picture or graphic to explain something visually. We do pairing on the video to explain ideas, upload video, tag all of this in del.icio.us. and we are a CollaborativeConversation over Web 2.0.)

We interview everyone for our weblog. We got a big cross section of people as our audience. WideAudience (RAY!!) We have always felt bad that we have a WideAudience - but it is an interesting place to be... what sells best to that group of people?

I think that many of us in the company would like AboutUs.org to be ad free - let's work toward that being real. CollaborativeEconomics and other things work toward self organization. We are a place on the web where you can self organize. Think Wikipeida is cool?!!?! We do to... AND THERE IS SO MUCH MORE!!!

I didn't want to have to "scream" that at you, but I feel I must.

Think about what public information you want organize. A friend asked me early on, can AboutUs get me a list of all the religious organizations in the United States contact information? I said, not yet, but soon if people would find that information useful to be organized, they can do it on our site, or let us know that they have good lists. That could be built very easily on here.

Recently he asked a similar question. Can he get a list of MediaOutlets in a certain area. not now, but yes. I invite any and all people interested in Media and its impact on humanity, please join together and let's build that list.

Talk about our idea of tending an area. Similar to HubPages.com, a very interesting site. Transcluding addresses might be a way to do that - also provides a measure of security. Maybe transcluded address would get more of a scrutiny or an email alert to the tender of the area.

Why not create busses, Amtrak can sponsor bus stop / train stop tours of any organized content. (part of our commitment to think about public transportation. We need a wiki full of interesting advertisements. Sun is sponsored - tour bus is sponsored - domains are sponsored, etc. etc. Editing is sponsored by AboutUs. individual targeted link ads that they can turn off - who wants to sponsor a cool LinkAd for a full moon? or a draft of beer? We can sell day site ads. Featured cool ad to support this site. Frame it, play it up big and corny.

Listening to his interview with Ward was great. The thing that I think Jon misses is that AboutUs wants to create this wiki world of about us pages. That doesn't work so well when the information is streaming in and not able to change, or if we are able to change it, how does it stream back? Maybe because Jon thinks of us as a directory only. That is certainly possible because we have way more work to do about telling our story. I like to say that we are a company of story tellers, unable to tell our story. I look forward to Curt helping in that regard. (background)

At our Friday meeting about how better to explain what we offer to help businesses / organizations and people, we were using a wiki page to chart out questions and answers and Corey, the newest one to wiki, asked if we could not change the document until we all agreed on new questions or answers - we have been letting him slide for the last couple of months, but on Friday we all said no, learn to use the wiki. Now maybe we need to better teach people the basics of wiki to help them learn the language that we are so excited by.
