Title
Custom software development and web hosting for companies outsourcing software offshore
Description
When I started building the CodeLance community in 2001 I quickly came to appreciate the value of good software development, and how difficult it can be to find someone you can trust to make your ideas a reality. It's relatively easy to find people who say they can help you, it's much more difficult to find someone who genuinely can.
After 5 years in this business I think the issue is largely one of anonymity on the Internet. Essentially, it's easy for people to make all kinds of claims without having to back them up (or without running the risk of being found out). This is especially true in some of the larger marketplaces where members feel they can overstate their skills and abilities in an attempt to win a software development project in the hope of making a quick buck. New buyers often lack the experience to know what questions they should ask before investing time (and money) with a particular developer.
I don't think so, and I'd like to think that the satisfied buyers and developers at CodeLance would agree with me. Imagine a marketplace for software buyers and developers large enough to be of value to both parties but small enough to provide individual attention to every single member during the project bidding process, that's CodeLance.
