With a background as an award-winning journalist, Beth brings a photojournalist's eye for detail to her work as a photographer for Coastal Photography.
A native Texan, Beth grew up in Clear Lake, south of Houston. She graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1989. While attending Stephen F. Austin State University, Beth signed on as a reporter for the school newspaper, and her passion for writing and photography went from a hobby to a career. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from SFA in 1994.
Two weeks after graduation, Beth went to work as a reporter for the Nacogdoches Daily Sentinel, where her investigative reporting skills resulted in awards for two series detailing overspending at her alma mater, and the life and trials of people living in an impoverished Hispanic subdivision. Beth later transferred to the Longview (TX) News Journal, then moved to Pensacola, where she joined the staff of the Pensacola News Journal as a daily reporter.
