I have been coaching, in one form or another, for a long time. I spent many years doing all the things we're told to do to acquire success and happiness. I went to school, got my degrees and ventured forth into the corporate world. Once there, I worked hard. I was in human resources. I worked with top executives, managers and employees. I designed and delivered programs that enhanced productivity and transformed paradigms. I understand the holy grail of change and motivating employees to work harder for the corporate good.
However, often it did not bring the kind of rewards, financial or emotional, that I expected. It lacked the kind of holistic, soul-nurturing satisfaction that I yearned for. So what did I do? Well, I left, of course.
By 1998 I was actively seeking a way to help individuals explore their world and consciously create the life they desired. I was in big-time transition when I met Fran Fisher, founder of the Academy for Coach Training, and learned of coaching as a discipline. Ah. I discovered the awareness of the ability to consciously and confidently change my life.
