The idea behind Clickteaching developed from a desire to get away from reinventing the wheel, and to look for ways to build creative and inventive activities that really work in the classroom.
Endless planning meetings that did not build on the previous year's work meant wasted time looking for and creating resources again and again. Clickteaching was created to bridge that gap. It emerged from a desire to create a bank of teaching resources, worksheets and lesson plans for the primary classroom to take a lot of the leg work out of planning. Initally, the resources were prepared for the TopMaths website and this service was extended to full curriculum coverage following feedback from teachers. Clickteaching now provides thousands of teaching resources for the primary classroom in an easy-to-access format allowing everyone to build activities to engage children's learning.
Clickteaching is a trading name for Paul Carter, an experienced primary school teacher working in schools on the south coast of England. Paul has been working in Education for the past 15 years, and has expertise and experience in the following subject and management areas: Information and Communication Technology, Design Technology, English and Literacy, Maths and Numeracy, Special Educational Needs, Staff Development and Data Analysis. Paul is in charge of developing the resource libraries and sourcing new content. Clickteaching is supported by a number of classroom teachers who provide resource material for the site.
