kari jo cates founded citywrites out of her new york city apartment looking for a way to use her creative talents and make ends meet while her handsome husband finished his ph.d. at columbia. she began handwriting stationery and birth announcements for friends and word of mouth spread quickly; soon citywrites.com was filling orders as fast as her pen would go. she enjoys the personal aspect of each order and believes that handwritten correspondence is the most significant way to communicate interpersonally. our client roster includes many high-profile individuals and corporations.
kari jo lives in new york city with her husband, cory, their two energetic sons, nathan and henry, and smiley daughters, caroline and newborn betsy (hey, little darlin'). unfortunately their faithful fan-tailed goldfish, sam and frodo, lost their resiliency; they will be missed.
