- The Center for the Study of Institutions, Population, and Environmental Change (CIPEC) is a center funded by the National Science Foundation that studies processes of change in forest environments as mediated by institutional arrangements, demographic factors, and other major human driving forces. CIPEC is co-directed by Emilio Moran and Elinor Ostrom. Four other research centers on the Indiana University Bloomington campus representing a diversity of researchers in the social, biological, and physical sciences conduct diverse research projects related to various aspects of the Human Dimensions of Global Change (HDGC) agenda. These four centers are:
