Chris Gerlach for Senate District 37
Description
Chris was introduced to the military early on as a Civil Air Patrol Cadet at age 13. He went on to the University of St. Thomas earning a B.A. in political science and a commission in the United States Air Force through the ROTC program. He served as a crew commander in our Intercontinental Ballistic Missile force based in Rapid City, South Dakota and rose to the rank of Captain. While on active duty he continued his education earning a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of South Dakota.
Chris returned to civilian life, moving back to Apple Valley in 1993. He is now self-employed in the real estate industry. Chris and his wife, Shelli, were married in 1997 and have two children.
Chris is a member of the Apple Valley American Legion Post 1776, Apple Valley Optimist Club, Civil Air Patrol, and the Apple Valley Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Chris has served on the Dakota County Human Services Advisory Committee. Chris and Shelli are also members of Faith Covenant Church in Burnsville.
