Description

The reason behind this website is simple. It is all about sharing my passion for stamps. China is not my primary collecting area, but I was lucky enough to live in Beijing for several years, and for a philatelist, this is not an opportunity to be missed! While in China, I discovered the beauty of Chinese philately. I am not an expert on this very complex subject, and I ask for your forgiveness for the errors I am certain you will find on these presentations. Their sole purpose is to entertain and, perhaps, to inspire some of you to explore this fascinating subject further.

China is said to have five thousand years of recorded history. Much of this history has been captured on stamps, which is, of course, not to say that stamps were issued back then. We all know that the Penny Black, introduced by the U.K. in 1840, was the the world's first adhesive postage stamp. For me, the fascination of Chinese stamps, especially those of the People's Republic of China, lies in the great variety of subjects and topics covered and their relevance to society. Subjects covered by Chinese stamps include Chinese history, nature, arts, sports, architecture, the Great +Wall, Mao, the Chinese new year, notable achievements, education, industry , the military, science, and many more.
