Our lives changed forever when our son was born extremely prematurely in 1988. After his earlier struggles to survive, our family began the struggle of raising a child with mutliple special needs, most of which are not obvious or well understood. As you know this is no easy task, despite the improvements of services and communication over the years for children with special needs. This website was created to help other parents of children with special needs, like yourself, with articles on topics that we have found to be supportive to us over the past 15 years. We have also included books and other resources that either our family or parents on our support groups have found especially useful.
This website has a special focus on the needs of preemies and young adoptees, as we met many of these authors during our volunteer work on our prematurity and websites: Prematurity, Comeunity, Adopt Vietnam and Families of Children from Vietnam.
If you are an author I am glad to consider your article on parenting, special needs, or adoption for any of our newsletters and websites. Publishers and published authors who wish to submit review books are also welcome to contact me. I am sorry but I accept very few self published books for review.
