In 1987 I set out to create a Christmas present for my grandson Eryk that would pale all of the gifts of previous years. Since I always said that there was no gift more special than a hand-made one, I headed out to the workshop in my garage and set to it.
The result was a bed frame that was something special indeed. The head and foot boards were painted like a crayon box. The bed posts were larger-than-life crayons that filled Eryk's room with soft colored light. I was just certain that, Eryk, would love it.
