Founded in 2003, the goal of the magazine is to stray off the beaten path, and offer new perspectives, peculiar angles, and illuminate both stories and figures while providing an ounce of insight into the world of sports. We enjoy thoughtful commentary; we believe restraint is vastly underrated.

Based in Chicago, we start with the local stories. But because we're based in Chicago, national stories often come to us. Thus, we do both. Our mantra "Sports and Life" aims to acknowledge that sports are our focus, but the way sports interact with social, political, or just plain odd realities in the world is our passion. And we enjoy humor.

We are not a news service. We are a review. We know from experience and appreciate the work of the daily print media, the growing depth of informative web media, and the humor, insight and accountability that is maintained within the blogosphere.
