- The defining statement of Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis International was founded on January 21, 1915 in Detroit, Michigan. The Moto of Kiwanis International is "Serving the Children of the World". The Kiwanis Club of Chester, Inc. was organized on March 29, 1972 with an initial membership of thirty-two. The club became chartered on June 3, 1972.
