Description
Kim De Clercq, takes the name Chemical Kim while presenting interesting and entertaining science programs. Kim earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and a Secondary Education Certification from Michigan Technological University, completing her student teaching at Northville Schools in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She worked as an environmental chemist at LJB Engineering & Architects, Inc. in Kettering, Ohio collecting, testing, and analyzing soil, air, and water samples.
She started her science teaching career at Nouvel Catholic Central High School in Saginaw, Michigan instructing chemistry, environmental sciences, and algebra. She furthered her education receiving a Masters of Arts in Teaching Chemistry from Central Michigan University studying soil chemistry and formulating reference materials for use in high school science education. Her teaching career continued as a science instructor at Delta College and Kalamazoo Valley Community College, becoming a certified trainer in Small-Scale Chemistry. She now devotes her time and talents into creating fun, safe, and interactive activities for students to learn science concepts.
