Charter Autism Foundation was established in Atlanta, Georgia by David and Marjorie McKenna, the parents of a child with autism. Through their personal experience, the McKenna’s identified an urgent need throughout Georgia for autism-related services. They created the Foundation in 1997 to create and support autism programs in Georgia.
As an organization founded by parents, we bring to bear a total, personal commitment to make the Foundation an important force in the autism community. This commitment has led to significant achievements in the Foundation’s short history.
The Foundation sets the goal to establish a new autism treatment program in the Atlanta area focused on behavioral, communication, and learning skills.
