Among his accomplishments as County Clerk is providing wheel chair accessible booths in every polling place in Champaign County. He is the only County Clerk in the state to provide a voter guide to every household in the county. Mark has dramatically expanded the use of technology in his office. The Champaign County Clerk website he has created is updated weekly (often daily) and is perhaps the best of any County Clerk website in the State of Illinois. Mark also designed and implemented a Voter Registration Kiosk which may be the first of its kind in the country.
Prior to serving as County Clerk, Mark worked for the Illinois House of Representatives as a legislative policy analyst. He has also been active in many political campaigns as both a volunteer and consultant.
Mark and his wife Mary currently reside in Urbana. They are active members of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Champaign where they teach catechism for preschool students.
