The New South Wales (NSW) Cervical Screening Program has been funded jointly by the Australian and NSW State Governments to reduce the burden of death and ill health attributed to cervical cancer in women in NSW, Australia. It does this by promoting increased participation in cervical screening and the provision of quality services for women in the taking and reading of Pap tests and in the follow up of screen detected abnormalities.
