Science Park Ownership:
Southampton Science Park Limited was formed in 1983 to develop a science park on part of the Chilworth Estate, an area of parkland to the north-west of Southampton. Its main aim was to benefit the University of Southampton through development of research companies. All the issued shares in the Company are held by the University through its wholly-owned subsidiary, University of Southampton Holdings Limited.
2004 A 9-acre site was purchased bringing the total park area to 44-acres. This land has planning permission for 5 buildings and will form the new Benham Campus - Phase III of the science park.
Bankers to the Park are HSBC Bank, and Vail Williams, an experienced local firm, are currently Managing Agents, covering marketing, lease negotiation, rent collection, and service and maintenance matters. Paris, Smith & Randall are the Company's solicitors in all matters connected with leases.
