An Interview with John O'Brien, founder of the Center for Book Culture and Publisher of the Review of Contemporary Fiction, Dalkey Archive Press, and CONTEXT magazine.
Rather than offer a standard organizational overview, we decided to discuss our organization and the issues we face in an interview format.
The first two parts of this interview--about our history and about the nature of nonprofit literary publishing--were conducted in 2000. The final two parts--about our plans to build an endowment for the Center and to publish more foreign literature--were added in 2003.
