Description
Excerpted from the website:
- All of our work is made on the extremely unorganized back porch of our home outside Nashville, TN. Each piece is wheel-thrown or hand carved using a stoneware clay body which is fired to cone 6 (2232°F). Most of our wheel-thrown pieces are glazed using a wax resist technique. While wax resist is very time consuming it allows us to give our symbols detail which would not be available otherwise. Our hand formed or carved pieces are washed with iron oxide to darken the crevises in the clay. Many pieces have pure herbs mixed into the clay before production. While the actual plant matter is burned out in the kiln the energy and essence of the plant is infused into the piece to aid in it's ceremonial use. If a piece has herbs in it the herb in purpose will be listed in the items description. All of our pieces have alot of time and energy invested in them.
