Corpus Christi Parish - Home
Description
Corpus Christi was founded in 1922. Its name bears reference to the Catholic doctrine of the real presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist and is the only parish in the Archdiocese of Boston with this name. The church is located in Auburndale, one of the 13 villages of Newton, located about 10 miles west of Boston.
The Corpus Christi Parish Community is comprised of approximately 550 registered families. Most of the parishioners reside in Auburndale, but there is a large number from neighboring communities. There are still families in the Parish that are descendants of the founding parishioners.
At Corpus Christi, we strive to encourage ongoing planning and evaluation of our liturgies. Among our goals is a continuing effort to make the church attractive and welcoming, improve communication, and keep our Mission Statement in focus. In our last parish survey, the majority of our parishioners agreed that "our parish liturgies are celebrated with reverence and devotion and that our parish leaders are committed to reaching a high quality in our liturgical celebrations."
