- Continental Cinema was instituted and incorporated on November 18, 1997, the fulfillment of Jeff and Chase Taylor’s dream to own and operate a THX certified cinema. Our goal was to create the highest quality presentation of film available with a physical operation size appropriate for the population of Pike and surrounding counties. Construction began in January 1998 with Continental Cinema opening its doors for the first time at 6:00 p.m. on June 26, 1998. Community response to the cinema was extremely positive and truly a dream fulfilled.
