Casual Review has 4 simple rules:
We only review games we like. Since most of us have experience making games, we have a lot of respect for game developers. Making even a poor game is a lot of work, and we just don’t have it in us to trash someone’s games. Instead, we have decided we will respect developers by doing what our mothers always told us, and not saying anything at all unless we have something nice to say. To that end, we only review games that we actually recommend you download and play. That way, you’re not wasting your time reading a review of a game you’ll never download, and we’re not trash talking products people tried hard to make. Everyone wins, and our mothers are proud.
We are honest in our reviews. That being said, once we decide we like a game, we will give an honest appraisal of the product, and will tell you what we liked or didn’t like about it. We’re hoping that this lets our users know what may irritate them in a game before they waste time downloading it, and also gives casual game developers some feedback for improving their games. We’re never mean, but we’re always honest.
We don’t waste your time. We know you can download and play the demos of these games just as easily as we can. We see no point in a 30 minute synopsis of a game you can be playing yourself in 3 minutes. We just want to get you enough information for you to decide whether you want to check it out or not – and generally, we think you will. There's a lot of games out there, so read less, play more!
We’ll find our users something new. You can go to the big portals and see the top 10 games yourself. You don’t need us for that. Sure, we’ll review the big games and keep you on top of the best new stuff out there, but we’ll also go back in the back catalogues and find forgotten gems you may not have found yourself. We’ll go to the little sites, and the indie developers who are doing some really innovative things, and make sure we get you the best games from that scene as well. We’ll make sure that you get the scoop on the big blockbusters, but you'll also get to see some of the games the big portals don’t want you to see as well.
