- Dear Participants of CartoonRing 2006 Knockout Drugs Competition and Festival: We apologize for the delay in communication regarding our contest, and we thank you for your patience. Due to Sponsorship discrepancies, we are sorry to announce the 2006 Knockout Drugs Competition and Festival has come to a sudden cancellation. Within CartoonRing’s contest guidelines, it states that artists are sole owners of their work. Thus their artwork cannot be sold, owned or negotiated to any other party without the artist’s approval. The Primary Sponsor for the Knockout Drugs Festival thinks finalists’ artworks should remain in sponsorship’s possession. Due to infringement rights with this sponsorship, we are sorry to announce there is a sudden cancellation to the Knockout Drugs Competition and Festival. This decision is made in order to protect the rights of artists who have entered this contest. We understand much time and effort has been put on this contest from the contestants, the Jury members, and our partners and members from CartoonRing, for this festival. Yet without the appropriate Sponsorship funding for this event, it would simply be impossible to continue. We are beyond disappointed from this result, and extend our sincere apologies for any inconvenience. Many thanks for those who have supported in this contest and this initiative in contributing to a drug-free world. Artworks will be returned beginning this month until the end of December 2007 to those who contact us with shipping information. For those who would like their artworks to be returned, kindly send an email to return@cartoonring.com with the following information in this format: Name Return Address Country Artworks will be kept safely in our archives, should the contest one day resume. Once again, we thank you all who have participated in CartoonRing’s 2006 Knockout Drugs Competition and Festival. We wish everyone the best for their future endeavors.
