- That service and tradition, began in 1920 when the Huff Funeral Home opened its doors to serve the downtown Kingsport area. The owners were the late J.W. Huff and J. Frank Nelson, who served the community for years. In 1954 it was purchased by Bill Carter and Frank Clamon to become Carter-Clamon Funeral Home. It was then purchased by Mr. Dean Trent and became Carter-Trent Funeral Home.
