- Cari B. Salkin began creating jewelry as a hobby twelve years ago while working as an elementary school teacher. She initially made simple bead jewelry which then progressed into more elaborate and complicated pieces. As her talents improved, she desired to refine her skills in a professional school to learn the art of metalsmithing and bench jewelry making. She mused, “Some day when I retire, I would love to make jewelry full-time.”
