Title

Canyon Creek Quilting -- A Hand-guided Machine Quilting Service

Description

Growing up in Minnesota, I spent many cold winters sewing quilts and clothes to keep warm. Sewing and quilt-making were experiences I learned through 4-H, and having a home economics teacher for a Mom. After attending North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota, I was hired by EDS (Electronic Data Systems) as a computer programmer and moved to Michigan. While there, I met my husband. We both wanted to live in a warmer climate, and since EDS’s headquarters is in Dallas, Texas, it wasn’t too hard to get a transfer. With the addition of two children, the stress of the corporate world, and the desire to work on more creative endeavors, I quit my job (of 16 years) as a Database Administrator. Now I am doing the things I love – being with my children and quilting. In addition, I am involved in many activities; PTA, church, the Quilter’s Guild of Dallas, the Quilter’s Guild of Plano, Quilter’s Unique and Pieceable Friends friendship groups.

In September 1999, Canyon Creek Quilting was born. It is named after our neighborhood in Richardson, Texas. I purchased my Gammill Classic from Linda Taylor and promptly attended several of her inspriring classes. Since then, I have quilted over 300 quilts, each with its own story, some sentimental, some funny, but each unique. In addition to finishing quilts, I have also designed, pieced and quilted commissioned works for those who love quilts, but don't have the time or inclination to piece the top themselves.

My goal is to provide quality quilting that meets your needs to enhance your one of a kind quilt top. This can be accomplished with anything from a simple overall pattern to a truly unique interpretive design. I also offer binding, batting, quilt backs, and piecing as desired.
