Description
The company was established in 1929 as a manufacturer of various textile products. The factory was located in Detroit until 1956 when it expanded into a location in Oak Park, Michigan. The product mix was limited exclusively to boat covers in the early fifties which they produced for the Thompson Boats Production. The company operated under original ownership until January 1987 at which time it was acquired by the Dancy/Keersmaekers Group. In 1996, the new owners moved the company back to the downtown Detroit area where it now resides. Canvas Products Company has been continuously expanding the area of expertise by including ATV, PWC, inflatable boats, pontoons, snowmobiles, motorcycles and jet boats in their cover line. Canvas Products Company has continued to out perform the competitors and provide the customer with quality covers.
Due to continued growth Canvas Products Company, manufacturer of Road Runner Boat Covers, Sun Shadow Bimini Tops, and other marine accessories, has expanded and moved to a new manufacturing facility in Detroit, Michigan. The new factory has increased CPC's capacity to 67,000 sq. feet.
