Description

Fatal Frame is/was originally called 'Zero' in Japan. When the game was brought over to the states, it was renamed Fatal Frame. (This is a common practice, Residen Evil for example has the original name of Biohazard in Japan). When the game was released in Europe, it was giving the name Project Zero. (While it has never been confirmed as to why exactly this name was given, I personally think it might have been a translation error/confusion with the Project Zero Team, the name of the group of men and women who created the Zero games. To add to the confusion even MORE, when the game was distributed on the Xbox console, it was renamed as Fatal Frame: Special Edition. BCL will mostly use the name 'Fatal Frame' for the games, since that is the name I am most familar with.

Interesting Note: When the first two versions of the game were re-released to Japan through the Xbox system, the games used the name 'Fatal Frame' instead of their Zero titles.

All three main games are published by Tecmo and distributed by Tecmo in the US & Japan for both PS2 & Xbox versions.
