Caldwell Sutherland has owned and operated a distinguished residential and commercial interior design firm, Caldwell Sutherland Designs, for the past two decades. She is the scion of a renowned family of artists and designers dating back many generations to her great-uncle, landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, who created and built New York’s Central Park and San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.
Her design work has led Caldwell to employ the latest cutting-edge technology such as the Archi-Cad system whereby she is able to transform via a computer her creative concepts into actual illustrations for client viewing in a manner of moments. Caldwell is equally adept in all phases of design which include contemporary, traditional and eclectic. She has also become a student of the Feng Shui techniques for clients who wish to incorporate this in their design plan.
Caldwell's education includes Phoenix College of Interior and Fashion Design, Arizona State University, and Avis Contracting School. She is a licensed B contractor who has bought, redesigned (often rebuilt), refurbished and then sold millions of dollars of residential property. Her idea of purchasing a house at the right price, and then making tasteful and quality improvements, has paid off in large dividends for both clients and investors.
