Every title we carry has been 'hand picked' by our staff, which often times requires a rigorous research of film archives, professional consultation by a group of critics as well as valuable recommendations from our customers. We tend to bypass mainstream releases of questionable quality to find the best films both from new DVD releases and from old favorites new to DVD.
Our website also acts as a platform to introduce interesting films by promising independent directors, to contribute towards development of the arthouse film market, where both filmmakers and audiences are underserved. We are committed to carrying a library of 60,000 artistically important films as they become available on DVD format. We are also committed to bringing new discoveries to light in this segment.
Founded by a group of independent film directors, marketing & engineering professionals in 1999, who themselves were frustrated by a lack of selection at local video stores, Cafedvd has built a strong relationship with cinephiles across the country with its excellent customer support.
