Description

The California Wing Cadet Programs Section serves the needs of all Civil Air Patrol Cadets in the California Wing. The program is designed to provide Cadets ages 12-20 training in followership, leadership, aerospace education, communication, and emergency services. Cadets receive training in these areas at their weekly squadron meetings as well as participating in local and wing level activities that occur throughout the year.

Cadets start out in the program as cadet basics and progress through the program by taking numerous leadership and aerospace tests as well as serving in ever progressing leadership positions. Cadets work towards completion of the five milestone awards in the cadet program named after The Wright Brothers, Gen Mitchell, Amelia Earhart, Gen Eaker, and Gen Spaatz.

Cadets can also take advantage of the numerous activities held at the local, wing, and national levels. These activities range from simple overnight Basic Cadet Schools, to National Flight Academy, Encampment, or International Air Cadet Exchange. During their cadet career, Cadets will have the opportunity if the choose to participate in leadership positions, flight training, emergency services, communications, IACE as an overseas ambassador of the program.
