Further news about Círculo de Amigas: In early 2005, CDA found a new sponsoring organization in Centro de Estudios y Promoción Social (CEPS), a Nicaraguan social service agency. CEPS is headed up by Dr. Leonel Arguello, a highly respected leader in the areas of pubic health, education and community development, who has spent a career bringing social services to the poorer communities of Nicaragua. Like CDA, CEPS works to promote an increased self reliance among local community members such that the community is increasingly capable of improving its own health and prosperity.
