- Having been born and raised in Northern Wisconsin, it was exciting and comforting to return to the area after finishing school and starting a family of our own. We were finally in a financial position to purchase our first home and had hoped we could buy a FSBO (For Sale By Owner) house. Yet, while living in another city and having to make numerous trips to the Lakeland area to look at homes (as none had information available online), it soon became clear we needed to use the listings through local realtors'® Internet sites. I like to save money, as so many do, so the idea of contributing towards a realtor's® commission was difficult.
